Knowing how to pay for college is an important step toward your college career. Therefore, having a full grasp of the payment options is vital. The more you learn about your financial choices, the better prepared you will be to enter college with dedication and self-esteem.

Below are all the crucial steps to getting financial aid to pay for college.

But before that,

What does financial aid entail?

Financial aid, just like scholarships, are funds given to students for the payment of education costs. Usually, applicants must meet certain standards including worthy accomplishment, financial need, and commendable academic success in their current program. This is to remain eligible for such types of financial aid.

The aid is segmented into four types:

  • Loans (funds that you borrow and must repay)
  • Grants (funds that you are awarded based on financial need and that you don’t need to repay)
  • Scholarships (funds that you are awarded based on special merit or requirements and that you are not required to repay) and lastly,
  • Federal work study (funds awarded in exchange for work arranged with your school).

You can learn more about Sinclair’s financial aid process on the financial aid page.
