A student goes to school with books and a pen for writing, a tailor learns with sewing machines, a doctor needs a stethoscope and a lot of other instruments in his/her learning process, etc. The same applies to work-life balance.

Achieving a work-life balance also requires some tools. These tools are called productivity tools. Human beings tend to forget things or be lazy or procrastinate or even concentrate on one thing at the expense of another. Hence, the need for productivity tools.

Productivity tools are those tools that help us to achieve more within a short period. In other words, they are tools that help us to maximize time.

For example: if my challenge of not achieving work-life balance is time-related, I will make changes that will revolve around maximizing my time. Some of the tools I can use are a calendar, alarm clock, wristwatch, setting reminders, etc.

The productivity tools here are all aimed at helping me to either wake up early, remember an appointment, or remind me when to end one meeting or activity and begin another. Any of the purposes it is trying to achieve is helping me to become more productive at work and in my life.

This, therefore, shows us that productivity tools are very important when we are trying to achieve work-life balance as we definitely cannot achieve it on our own.

This is a productivity extension of Google Chrome. This software helps you stay focused on work by restricting the amount of time you spend on time-wasting websites. It is highly configurable, allowing you to block or allow entire sites, specific subdomains, specific paths, specific pages, and even specific in-page content.

3. Noisli:

This software is a noise masking app. Noisli helps you mask annoying sounds with background sounds that help you keep the focus on work. If there is a particular sound that your office maintains that helps you work, you have the option where you can mix and match sounds to get that sound.

4. Pushbullet:

This software connects all your devices as one and makes it easy for you to respond to messages, calls, notifications, etc. Whether you are working on a PC or your phone or any other gadget, you can see messages or calls, or notifications from your other devices on one when you connect them all with pushbullet.

This is a time tracking software. It helps you keep track of how much time you spend on activities. Time is the most important asset and toggl helps you make the most use of it.

This is another time tracking software. It helps you time your activities. Rescue time has a primary duty of making sure you make good use of your time.

Freedcamp helps streamline projects, processes, workflows, track lines, and issues. It’s built for high-performance teams.

Is There A Difference Between Healthy Work-Life Balance and Work-Life Balance?

To answer this question, we have to first look at the aim of work-life balance. Work-life balance is aimed at keeping us healthy. The sole purpose why work-life balance should be pursued is for the sake of our health. 

An unhealthy person cannot go to work or even concentrate at work if he even manages to get there. He can’t be productive. Therefore, there is no difference between a healthy work-life balance and a work-life balance as they are both pointing to the same thing.
