That of course includes the Director of Nursing role that we are seeking to fill!

Our nursing home (your new home?) is a 100-bed person-centered care home located in Sussex, New Brunswick. You will be joining approximately 120 other caring and amazing staff members who interact daily with our residents and their families.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Nursing plans, organizes, directs, operates and coordinates nursing, clinical, and administrative matters. The DON may fill in for Administrator in his/her absence.

In this role, the Director of Nursing oversees and coordinates all nursing staff and overall nursing operations of our home. DON duties include evaluating and directing all nursing employees, establishing goals for the nursing department, and creating and enforcing compliant long-term care policies. You will also uphold our standards of a collaborative and supportive workplace, so that all nursing staff will be able to do their best in caring for our residents each day.

You will also be part of a dedicated leadership team of six professionals who lead with heart.

What we hope you can offer us: Current registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick, a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing supplemented by recognized courses in administration and/or health care, or equivalent, a minimum of three years relevant supervisory experience in Nursing Management at a senior level, effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply these skills with residents, their families, supervisory and subordinate staff, other health care professionals and the general public, and a high degree of leadership, supervisory and administrative ability.

What we can offer you: An annual salary of up to $92,000, pension, group benefits (Kiwanis covers your full health and dental premiums), a wellness program, standard working hours from 8AM – 4PM, and treats in the office on a regular basis.
