Position Highlights
As a Coordinator, you will be responsible for the development, administration and management of the Business Intelligence tools and dashboards, IPS data warehouse and security incident reporting systems administration. You will lead the development and management of quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives within Integrated Protection Services (IPS).
We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your expertise to the exciting role as Coordinator, Quality Improvement & Analytics to support our dedicated Integrated Protection Services team based out of Central City Tower located in Surrey, BC.
As Coordinator, your work may include the following:
- Lead and coordinate the collection, measurement and reporting of key performance indicators for the different IPS business streams.
- Collaborate with the IPS business streams to assess, plan and prepare statistical analysis for business cases and/or corporate service briefing notes.
- Lead and coordinate quality assurance audits by reviewing audits for completeness, accuracy and integrity of security reports and aggregate data.
- Responsible for providing data and security resourcing model design input for major projects across the Organizations.
- Develop consolidated reports and dashboards (e.g. SSRS, SQL, etc.) that integrate information from a variety of Integrated Protection Services information systems.
- Lead and oversee the security incident reporting and data analytics systems. Ensure efficient and effective reporting of security data.
- Participates in various meetings, committees and task forces to provide expertise and guidance on the reporting of violence prevention categories and other performance reporting related matters.
- Provide after hours on-call Manager function for IPS for the Organizations, as assigned.
To join our team, ideally, we will be looking for you to have:
- Bachelor degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, or a related field
- Five (5) to seven (7) years’ recent related experience in security or crime incident reporting systems and/or business analytics, including experience with Healthcare Security Operations, in a large complex organization
- Designation as a Certified Health Care Protection Administrator (CHPA) would be an asset.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

The Coordinator, Quality Improvement & Analytics, coordinates security incident reporting systems and data analytics programs for the Fraser Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Provincial Health Services Authority and Providence Health Care (collectively, the “Organizations”). The Coordinator is responsible for the development, administration and management of the Business Intelligence tools and dashboards, IPS data warehouse and security incident reporting systems administration. Lead the design of methods and of tools in order to achieve consistent and reliable data collection. Responsible for the design and development of IPS data analytics reports for internal and external stakeholders. Leads the data quality control program, including the development of processes, end user education, and automated audits. Provides evidence to IPS senior leadership in support of both capital and operational budget requests. Leads the development and management of quality improvement and program evaluation initiatives within IPS.
Responsibilities
- Leads and coordinates the collection, measurement and reporting of key performance indicators for the different IPS business streams. Collaborates with the IPS business streams to assess, plan and prepare statistical analysis for business cases and/or corporate service briefing notes. Coordinates and leads the development of site security statistical reports on quarterly bases, or as required, for dissemination to internal stakeholders.
- Leads and coordinates quality assurance audits by reviewing audits for completeness, accuracy and integrity of security reports and aggregate data. Conducts regular audits to monitor business and operational processes and contract performance of contracted security provider. Analyses, compiles and reports on findings to IPS leadership teams, as required.
- Responsible for providing data and security resourcing model design input for major projects across the Organizations.
- Develops consolidated reports and dashboards (e.g. SSRS, SQL, etc.) that integrate information from a variety of Integrated Protection Services information systems. Summarizes information, provides trend analysis and prepares reports on summary of findings for various levels of stakeholder groups.
- Leads and oversees the security incident reporting and data analytics systems. Ensures efficient and effective reporting of security data. Ensures the systems and reporting are in alignment with business processes.
- Administers and manages the Business Intelligence tools and dashboards, IPS data warehouse, and security incident reporting systems by developing and designing methods and tools for consistent and reliable data collection. Manages the resources required to maintain those systems.
- Reviews, develops and monitors contract and IPS operational staff training initiatives and curriculum for incident documentation. Actively monitors and evaluates staff performance to ensure adherence of data collection protocols. Recommends and implements appropriate staff training and/or orientation to ensure staff are knowledgeable and up to date with current IPS incident reporting process and procedures.
- Provides expertise and advice in investigations involving staff related to matters of security or information technology. Plays a lead role in the application of security technology that may be required for sensitive investigations, including those with potential for employee disciplinary outcomes. Supports the development of action plans regarding issues including the investigation and determination of appropriate actions for the Organizations.
- Participates in various meetings, committees and task forces to provide expertise and guidance on the reporting of violence prevention categories and other performance reporting related matters.
- Leads and coordinates improvements to performance reporting through report automation, introduction of new tools and process improvement.
- Leads and coordinates the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, including process mapping, review and testing of any system and application functionalities.
- Collaborates with business units in identifying reporting needs, analyzing current procedures, reducing redundancies and ensuring reporting processes support business objectives. Develop statistical reports for various internal and designated external stakeholders to provide performance indicator data and related metrics for review and analysis.
- Identifies and evaluates new initiatives, developments and trends in security and emergency management reporting through literature review, contact with peers at other organizations, industry advisory groups, professional associations and attendance at seminars, workshops and education programs. Communicates information and makes recommendations to appropriate IPS management designate. Facilitates the implementation of approved initiatives. Monitors initiatives and recommends and/or takes remedial action as directed.
- Responsible for obtaining system and network accounts, and user access permissions for IPS systems.
- Provides after hours on-call Manager function for IPS for the Organizations, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Information Technology, or a related field, supplemented with five (5) to seven (7) years’ recent related experience in security or crime incident reporting systems and/or business analytics, including experience with Healthcare Security Operations, in a large complex organization; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Designation as a Certified Health Care Protection Administrator (CHPA) would be an asset.
