Basic Care Medical Foundation is a not-for-profit organization set up to address the knowledge and skills deficit among healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, paramedics, community health workers, pharmacists) by continuous healthcare campaigns and healthcare training.
Designed, managed and promoted health improvement programmes and trained over 1000 healthcare workers.
Devised health policies and schemes for assessing the health needs of an identified region then initiated a partnership with influential people, organizations and communities to further public health in the area. These critical gaps have influenced my life and career mission and professionalism to contribute to health and wellness.
These are snippets of key social projects undertaken to grow Health and wellness;
Managed a campaign against sexual abuse on women and children in the metropolitan across ten local governments with estimated 3.4million residents to increase awareness and leveraging partnership with the State government.
Program managed a youth cultural promotion program across 15 secondary schools and 1000 participants, using learning tools to improve pupils’ skill set covering Poetry, Drama, Choreography and Writing thereafter hosting a talent show in partnership with the State government to assess performance and drive creativity.
Project managed an outreach program targeted at juveniles in three corrections in three local governments with a total capacity of 4,500 persons, sponsoring training programs and equipment to aid their rehabilitation, productiveness and integration into society
Program managed an enterprise project to deliver 44kwp clean energy to a school for pupils with Down Syndrome to mitigate risks with power cuts and costs thereby assisting the school in reallocation associated resources to other developmental projects. Furthermore, executed a campaign across online and offline media to increase awareness for Down Syndrome.
Led partnership initiative with the State government to boost funding for secondary schools’ innovative projects estimated to impact 5000 pupils.
Project managed a Basic-needs-bank outreach programme during the COVID-19 period with a target impact of 1000 families with 4 per family size, for 1 month. The objective is to ameliorate sufferings amongst families at the bottom of the pyramid, brought along by the pandemic induced recession. The outreach covered the lowest-income neighbourhoods.
These executed projects are minute in comparison to my future ambitions for health delivery on a larger scale in Africa with an exponential multiplier positive effect on the continent’s health delivery infrastructure.
Wrote reports and made a presentation on the outcome of each campaign to the executive members of the NGO.
