About Us:
Established in 1930, McNeil Farms is a family owned and operated farm in the Lockyer Valley that prides themselves on continuing their legacy of producing high quality products and service.
The Position:
We are currently searching for an experienced Farm Hand to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role within our business and involves general farm duties, such as ground preparation, irrigation and assisting our planting/harvesting crews.
This is a full-time position, Monday – Saturday and requires the applicant to have a level of flexibility with working days. Normal hours are between 6am – 4pm (Weekdays) and 6am – 12pm (Saturday) – please note this may vary in peak seasons.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Soil/Ground Preparation
- Drip tape laying
- Setting up irrigation pipes
- Assisting the planting and harvest crews
- General cleanliness of the farm and shed
- General farm work
Skills and Experience:
- Practical background in vegetable farming (highly advantageous)
- Tractor Driving (not essential but highly regarded)
- Farm Machinery experience – planters, harvesters, etc.
- Passion for horticulture
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliability and great work ethic
