Medforce, a proud provider of recruitment services to the HSE are delighted to announce that we are currently hiring for a Staff grade Psychologist for a well-established children’s primary care team in South West Dublin.

The role involves contributing to a waitlist initiative and delivering evidence-based, family-centred care in alignment with the Progressing Disability Services (PDS) principles. This multidisciplinary team combines professional excellence with a friendly, empathetic approach, creating an environment where service users feel valued and supported, and where team members thrive both personally and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Service Delivery: Provide professional psychology services in line with best practices.
  • Professional Competence: Operate within professional limits, adhering to best practice principles, professional conduct, and clinical governance.
  • Caseload Management: Handle a clinical caseload suitable for the position.
  • Assessment: Conduct psychological assessments using a variety of sources, including psychological tests, self-report measures, observations, and interviews with clients, families, and carers.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Develop and implement therapeutic intervention plans based on appropriate conceptual frameworks in both home and clinical settings.
  • Client Management: Take professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients managed with psychologically-based care plans.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure integrated service provision.
  • Referrals: Refer service users to other necessary services.
  • Inter-Agency Work: Participate in inter-agency work practices and service delivery as required.
  • Key Worker Role: Undertake Key Worker responsibilities when needed.
  • Health Promotion: Engage in needs assessments and health promotion activities.
  • Reporting: Provide professional reports adhering to professional standards.
  • Professional Consultation: Educate, guide, and support others to foster an understanding of the role and contribution of psychology.
  • Meetings and Conferences: Attend meetings, committees, and conferences as required.
  • Ethics and Professionalism: Maintain ethical and professional conduct at all times.
  • Promote Equality: Advocate for a workplace culture that values equality, diversity, and respect.

Research & Evaluation

  • Evidence-Based Practice: Utilize literature and research to support effective practice.
  • Research Participation: Undertake and advise on research projects.
  • Publishing: Share research outcomes in professional journals and conferences.
  • Project Management: Engage in audit and service evaluation to enhance service provision.
  • Service Evaluation: Participate in evaluating clinical/professional activities and provide necessary information for service monitoring and evaluation.
  • Professional Representation: Promote high ethical standards and professional conduct.
  • Innovative Practice: Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative practices in psychology.

Education & Training

Education Support: Assist in educating postgraduate professional psychology trainees.

Continuous Development: Participate in professional development initiatives and comply with statutory registration requirements.

Knowledge Advancement: Stay informed about advances in professional knowledge and practice.

Mandatory Training: Attend required training programs.

Career Development: Collaborate with Senior/Principal Psychologists on training needs and personal development planning.

Clinical Supervision: Engage in and utilize clinical supervision effectively.
