Ace Acumen High School is a Languages Canada accredited designated learning institution (DLI), a private international institution located in Toronto, Ontario. The school is fully inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The courses we offer derive from the curriculum set by the Ontario Ministry of Education, and our students work towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) in order to continue their academic carees at a post-secondary school of their choice.

We are seeking a SOCIAL SCIENCES HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER for the upcoming semester.

The successful candidate will be teaching part-time, and must have open flexibility to meet the operational needs of the Institution and its academic calendar. Experience is mandatory in the subjects: _ Social Sciences and Humanities (HFC3M, HFA4U, HSB4U) ._

Qualifications:

Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field;
An Ontario Certificate of Teachers (OCT) is preferred, and membership MUST be in good standing;
2 years of classroom teaching experience is required;
Strong understanding of the Ontario School Curriculum and the Growing Success Documents;
Manage the creation, storage, and maintanence of student information files, including assessments for For/As/Of Learning, student records and report cards;
Prepare subject material for presentation according to an approved curriculum, assign, and correct homework;
Prepare and collect materials and teaching evidence according to Ministry of Education; maintain records of student evaluations and assessments;
Experience working with students in both in-person and online environments;
Experience using learning technology (e.g. MS Office, Google Workspace);
Excellent communication skills, used in a respectful and supportive manner, with all stakeholders;
Creative, flexible, innovative and positive approach to teaching;
Excellent classroom management, organization, and planning skills;
Be a problem-solver and solution-provider when issues arise;
Thrives in a positive team environment and easily adapts to new things;
Participate in professional development activities as scheduled;
Understand the needs of students and goes beyond the call of duty.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Weekend availability
