Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) is seeking experienced registered nurses (RN) to join the nursing team that supports First Nations communities in Southern Ontario (where a vacancy exists).

As a member of this team, you will work to your full scope of practice in the areas of Public Health nursing . You will, at times, work independently and alongside an interdisciplinary team including nurses, other health professionals, and community members dedicated to delivering quality care in a culturally safe way.

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and/or the Nurse in Charge, as well in collaboration with community leadership, you will be expected to deliver comprehensive and community health nursing services and public health programming to First Nations communities within Southern Ontario based on the community needs. An opportunity to expand to more remote and isolated First Nation communities is available, depending on skill level. Public Health programming includes chronic disease prevention and wellbeing, healthy growth and development, communicable disease prevention and control, immunizations through the lifespan, infection prevention and control, and healthy environments.

Locations

The First Nations communities in Southern Ontario are accessible by road and are generally within driving distance from all major cities. They include locations such as:

· Munsee-Delaware First Nation

· Parry Sound communities (Magnetawan, Moose Deer Point, Shawnaga, Wahta, Wasauksing)

  • Saugeen First Nation
  • Six Nations of the Grand River

Employment type:

  • Opportunities for part-time and full-time.

Salary range:

  • $ 84.187 to $98,114 Base annual salary (plus applicable allowances)
  • Allowances are predetermined by the employer and dependent on the level of education.

Citizenship/permanent residency:

  • Persons residing in Canada and Canadian citizens residing abroad.

Salary: $84,174.00-$98,114.00 per year
