Job Description

Cayman Islands Surgery Center is a private general surgery practice located on the Seven Mile Beach Corridor in the beautiful Cayman Islands. We are looking for a full-time registered nurse. Cayman Islands Surgery is a well-established medical practice with a general surgeon and plastic and reconstructive surgeon caring for many breast cancer and cosmetic patients. We also offer ultrasound services and do ultrasound guided procedures in our clinic, such as breast biopsies and ultrasound guided treatments for varicose veins. At Cayman Surgery we also do minor procedures and provide services for general surgical, hand, plastic, cosmetic, and a variety of other patient concerns. Most recently we have started a new lymphedema program, mainly for breast cancer patients, imaging lymph vessels using IDG fluorescence (PDE-Neo II) and are offering microvascular lymphedema surgery. We are a friendly team including two nurses, an ultra-sonographer, two receptionists, and a clinical coordinator.


We provide a benefit package to our employees including health insurance and pension plan. Rare after hours and we are closed Saturdays and all public holidays. Salary ranges between 4500 KYD to 5500 KYD per month and is tax free.

· Graduate of an accredited Nursing program

· Has a minimum of 5 years postgraduate nursing experience including urgent care or surgery

· Experience in coding

· Experience assisting with minor procedures

· Trained in micropigmentation preferred

· Experience with genetic counseling

· Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal/written), computer and organization skills

· Demonstrated ability to handle challenges and stress in a professional, effective manner

· Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively and accurately, both autonomously and as an  

    effective team member

· Has strong organizational and analytical skills

· Ability to meet patient and staff needs in an efficient manner

· Must be flexible, adaptable, punctual and have an excellent attendance record

· Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, and manage time effectively

· Will need to be registered with the Cayman Islands Medical and Dental Council prior to



· Must be able to work independently and without supervision

· Organizes, prioritizes and co-ordinates scheduling of procedures 

· Assists surgeons with procedures

· Assist sonographer with the PDE lymphangiogram imaging program

· Willing and able to learn new skills

· Willing and adaptable to occasionally help with other duties as assigned and required for

    operational purposes

· Demonstrate commitment to a patient centered approach to care

· Must participate in quality control, assurance and improvement programs as well as research 

· Must monitor patient status and respond to any change in condition, to ensure patient safety

    and comfort
