Job Description

The position of Travel Patient Care Assistant with Haztech offers the opportunity to work on contracts of varying lengths, ranging from a few days to 3-6 months. Haztech provides competitive wages along with travel, meal allowance, and accommodations for the duration of each contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature.
• Assist with feeding and medication administration, as directed by a registered nurse.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents, including changing bed linens and ensuring a clutter-free room.
• Assist in the development and implementation of care plans, including reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents and their families, promoting a positive and engaging environment.
• Follow all infection control protocols and procedures to prevent the spread of disease.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all care provided.

Qualifications:

• Completed training and certification as a Patient Assistant, with a minimum of 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and patient care techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Experience with geriatric care is an asset.
