Home Oulu Iiris as a workplace

Koti Oulun Iiris is a small, warm-hearted unit for adults with intellectual disabilities in Syynimaa, Oulu, with good transport connections. We offer a home for ten people who need 24-hour care and supported living for four adults with intellectual disabilities.

Our work community consists of 12 skilled social and health professionals, for whom customer orientation, appreciation of diversity and support for self-determination are the cornerstones of our work. At Oulu Iiris, it is important to us that in our work we encourage and consider each other, that we are allowed to express our opinions and that we ensure that everyone is heard.

Your working day as a caregiver

As a caregiver, your job description includes responsible and diverse care and customer service work, with the main focus on assisting residents with daily activities according to their needs. You will be on duty for our residents, meeting them with warmth and taking into account their individual needs. 

Your workday will consist of nursing and supervising residents, planning and participating in the overall care of residents, and activity activities. If you have completed your medical treatment licenses, your duties may also include implementing medical treatment for residents. 

The work is 2- or 3-shift work and the summer replacements are scheduled between June and August. We can agree with you on a more specific start date and the exact duration of the employment relationship.

The task requires

• suitable social and health education (e.g. nurse, practical nurse, social worker) or that you are a final-year student in the field
• vaccination protection in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act and at least functional basic language skills in Finnish (B1 level)
• We consider valid medical licenses and a completed hygiene passport an advantage

The candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Criminal Records Act if the employment relationship lasts more than 3 months.  Please note that we can only hire a person who meets the above-mentioned requirements for the position. 

Pay

We follow the private collective agreement for the social services sector in our remuneration. The job-specific base salary is, depending on experience, as follows:

• in the position of a nurse 2363.76-2556.20 €/month (G20C)
• Bachelor’s degree level position €2665.28-2905.09/month (G22D)

Students’ salary is a grade -6% incompetence discount.
