Gundagai Meat Processors are looking for Entry Level & unskilled workers to join the GMP Team.

The GMP Business

GMP is a progressive meat processing business owned and operated by the Barton family in regional New South Wales, Australia.  The plant is conveniently located halfway between Sydney and Melbourne on the Hume Highway in the beautiful foothills of the Snowy Mountains which is a prime lamb growing region. 

GMP has long been committed to the region and its people, innovation, and the meat processing industry.  The business has recently completed an exciting expansion project to increase annual production capacity, export certification, and increased automation. With the plant’s increased capacity and the spring lamb flush, we are seeing sustainable increased numbers flow through the plant.  Now’s the time to join the team!

Start your day at GMP

• Single shift with production starting at 6:00 am
• Understand and implement daily cut plans
• Change cut specifications as required while working to chain speed
• Work safely while adhering to work instructions
• Communicating clearly and treating others respectfully while working
• Working in a team environment and taking direction as required
• Pitching in a team effort to get the job done
• Your pay will Range between $42,000 and $50 565 PA dependent on your skill level.  Higher rates of pay can be achieved when you move into our skilled categories
• Some overtime may be required and is paid in addition to the amounts above

What you need to be successful

• Work as a team with Supervisors to meet cut plan
• A commitment to working safely
• Good communication skills and the ability to get along with others in a multicultural environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Committed to coming to work, reliable and punctual
• Australian Citizenship or legal right to work in Australia
• A positive attitude
• COVID double vaccinated
• Entry level roles include packing finished product
• Ability to understand cut plans and make changes as required
