As Head of Infrastructure Support, you will be accountable for the day to day running of the underlying infrastructure that underpins our IT Services/Products delivered to our clients.


The opportunity


The selected candidate will:

  • Deliver reliable, best in class Infrastructure services in a manner that meets our contractual obligations and delights our customers and clients, through working hand in hand with our teams and vendors providing the infrastructure capability
  • Ensure all concerns and escalations regarding the infrastructure are all addressed in a timely manner to ensure a satisfactory outcome
  • Ensure that EY is best placed to deliver our contracted obligations and there is full alignment with account and EY strategy/plans
  • Partner with all levels of leadership to drive initiatives that meet and exceed Client expectations to the most efficient and cost-effective level of support.
  • Managing and supporting the team leads, including coaching/mentoring and personal development where appropriate
  • Contributing to senior management and leadership forums for CT Operations and Support and contribute to the IT strategy.
  • Reviewing processes, tools, and technology to ensure optimum delivery capability, including the innovation of new capability to support and underpin our client services
  • Ensuring a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ensure IT assets are recorded, tracked and up to date (accountability for the CT Ops and Support Inventory
  • Ensure a strong Cyber Security Posture, looking for areas to increase security maturity, reducing operational risk
  • Partner with Compliance to ensure Infrastructure is aligned and supports in-place frameworks (such as ISO27001, SOC2)
  • Deliver sufficient infrastructure capacity
  • Ensure all systems are monitored, and any issues resolved quickly


Your key responsibilities


  • Reviewing of hosting strategy and implementation of Cloud hosting where applicable working with suppliers
  • Supporting from an infrastructure standpoint, the implementation of new data management and process management tooling likely to be introduced over the period
  • Collaborating with delivery teams across the organisation as well as external organisation
  • Ensuring that processes and procedures are developed, documented, and implemented to ensure the delivery of a robust service including business continuity planning for the IT Infrastructure and IaaS
  • Developing SLA and KPI’s making sure they are adopted within the teams and are being regularly reviewed and adhered to
  • Responsible for the development, management, and administration of a range of complex specialist cyber security software and services to ensure compliance
  • Drive and implement a full “end to end” Inventory capability, including the on and off boarding of assets, and ensuring the Inventory is 100% accurate at all times for all CT managed services
  • Providing line management of their direct reports


Skills and attributes for success


  • Extensive knowledge of IT Infrastructure and IaaS, industry standards and processes for effective delivery of IT operations
  • Extensive knowledge of operating and supporting cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google, etc)
  • Demonstrable leadership skills evidenced by an ability to identify and adopt appropriate management and leadership strategies and styles to suit specific situations
  • Extensive experience in an IT Infrastructure role
  • Experience in leading and managing complex projects
  • Experienced in establishing high performing teams and engaging colleagues in effective delivery of services
  • Experience of directly managing teams including performance management and appraisals


To qualify for the role, you must have


  • Have previous at least 10 years’ experience of leading an enterprise Infrastructure team, with particular focus on cloud technologies
  • Have experience working with global IT Service Providers
  • Demonstrate experience in effectively delegating tasks whilst conforming to service level/quality agreements
  • Have exceptional customer service skills and strong commercial awareness
  • Are ITIL qualified
