Job Description
Oshkosh, WI
A PCA is needed for a vibrant and very determined young lady who is living with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy. This individual is non-verbal, but is very intelligent. The client needs assistance completing daily living tasks (toileting, bathing, dressing, etc…) and light housekeeping tasks (grocery shopping, laundry, vacuuming, etc…) because her arms and legs do not work well enough to accomplish them herself. As a PCA, you would provide her assistance with these tasks.
No medical background is needed as hands-on training is provided. However, some body strength is required to assist the client with transfers. The client is very motivated and relies on PCAs to provide her assistance to live a productive and successful life!
This is a great resume builder, and a perfect PART-TIME job for students looking to gain experience in the healthcare and/or disability-related fields.
Applications are always being accepted. There are two shifts per day. The first is a two-hour shift in the morning (7:00a.m.-9:00a.m.) and a night shift (4:00p.m.-11:00p.m.). Scheduling is based on your availability and is flexible.
The client is part of the IRIS (I Respect, I Self-Direct) program through the State of Wisconsin. The pay rate ranges from $15/hour (for Supportive Home Care which is only 1.5 hours of the night shift) to $17.98/hour (for Personal Care which is the rest of the time).
Applicants must pass a background check through the state of Wisconsin. A vehicle is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended. The client resides on the east side of Oshkosh.
Hope to hear from you!
