Halal meat industry introductory courses are expected to be completed in this position and we will consider applicants who can demonstrate a proven track record of learning and must be willing to undergo comprehensive training in both beef and lamb.

Currently working eight to ten hours a day, five to six days a week, this role covers both day and night shift and preference will be given to any night shift candidates.Qualifications

You must be a practising Muslim, be allowed to work in NZ and be members of an Islamic Society in NZ.

As a member of the team you will be responsible for a lot of duties including the following:

  • Slaughter beef and remove viscera and other valuable by-products from carcasses
  • Bone or slice high value, quality beef or quarters into primal cuts for further processing or packaging for both local and export commercial or wholesale use
  • Wearing personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, mesh safety equipment) as provided by the employer
