The Oxford Department of International Development is looking to recruit a Finance Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the department’s financial functions, including ensuring all activities adhere to the University’s financial and personnel regulations and statutory legislation as appropriate. They will lead a team of finance professionals and provide strategic and operational financial advice and support to the Head of the Department, the Head of Administration & Finance, the Departmental Management Committee, and to the department’s four Research Centre Directors.
The successful candidate will hold an accounting qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA but in exceptional circumstances account may also be taken of skills gained through experience. They will be experienced in communicating complex financial information, management accounts, processes and functions to non-financial staff, including senior management and administrators, and demonstrate proven ability and experience in negotiating with non-accountants. A high level of personal effectiveness, particularly co-ordination, organisation, the ability to focus on achieving deadlines, and ensuring that timetables/project plans can be met is essential to this role.
