We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. Armadale Academy is a six-year comprehensive school that serves over 1100 students in the Armadale/Blackridge and Bathgate area. We offer the full range of National Qualifications found in a modern Scottish secondary school.

The Senior Leadership Team comprises the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers and the Area Business Support Manager. The school has approximately 80 teaching staff and departments are organised under the direction of a Principal Teacher Curriculum responsible for each Curricular Area.

Armadale Academy offers the opportunity for all students to succeed. The excellent facilities available, allied to commitment of our staff, allow us to offer all of our students the highest possible standard of education in a safe, caring and stimulating environment – an environment in which all members of the school community are valued and their achievements recognised.

We aim to work in partnership with all stakeholders within Armadale Academy to ensure a high quality student experience that reflects curricular design principles and student entitlements with the ultimate aim of maximised achievement and attainment for all. Our mission statement “Learning Together, Achieving Together” underpins our collaborative approach to improvement where every voice is important and valued. The school values – ambition, achievement, positive attitude, community, respect and equity- underpin all decision making in the daily life of the school.

The Family Link Worker post is funded by Pupil Equity Funding. The post holder is an integral part of the team supporting young people’s wellbeing in school. The post entails working closely with a targeted group of young people facing barriers to attendance and their families to secure a long-term, sustainable improvement in school attendance which will lead to improved wellbeing, attainment and achievement, and a positive destination.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
