Minimum Salary: 65,000.00 Maximum Salary: 85,000.00 Pay Basis: Yearly

Position Description


Oversees, plans and coordinates administrative and management services work to include various operational areas related to budget, accounting, legislative analysis, office support services to include equipment, facilities, purchasing and contract administration. Work requires contact with governmental agencies and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence. Each district and division is limited to one Business Services Coordinator position.

Essential Duties:

Business Services Coordinator I

  • Analyzes incoming correspondence, reports and other materials related to administrative areas; coordinates with appropriate personnel to initiate proper action.
  • Assists in reviewing and/or preparing routine contracts for accuracy, completeness and submission.
  • Coordinates purchasing, warehousing and other administrative support functions with support center staff and/or Division staff; monitors budget activities.
  • Implements and interprets administrative policies and procedures.
  • May serve as a facilitator for team-based projects or initiatives.
  • Oversees the Safety Program, open records requests and/or HUB/DBE/SBE programs.
  • Researches and analyzes information to produce correspondence and reports.
  • Reviews, prioritizes, assigns and monitors special or non-routine projects to ensure completion.
  • Trains other employees.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Business Services Coordinator II

  • Analyzes incoming correspondence, reports and other materials related to administrative areas; coordinates with appropriate personnel to initiate proper action.
  • Coordinates purchasing, warehousing and other administrative support functions with support center staff and/or Division staff; monitors budget activities.
  • Coordinates, processes, and executes contracts and payments.
  • Implements and interprets administrative policies and procedures.
  • May serve as a facilitator for team-based projects or initiatives.
  • Oversees the Safety Program, open records requests and/or HUB/DBE/SBE programs.
  • Researches and analyzes information to produce correspondence and reports.
  • Reviews, prioritizes, assigns and monitors special or non-routine projects to ensure completion.
  • Trains other employees.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Business Services Coordinator I

Experience: 4 years management, business operations and administration and/or staff support functions. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Business Services Coordinator II

Experience: 5 years management, business operations and administration and/or staff support functions. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.


Preferred Qualifications:

Business Services Coordinator I or II

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration related field.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
  • Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
  • Standing-prolonged periods of time
  • Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
