The Weight-Management Service (within the Diabetes and Endocrinology Department) at Torbay Hospital is based in Hengrave House.
We work as a close multi-disciplinary team which consists of Consultants, specialist nursing staff, specialist dietitians, specialist psychologists, exercise specialists, administrative team, Specialty Doctors and Specialist Registrars.
We carry out assessment, investigations and treatment of patients who are referred to the team through a variety of pathways including their GP, self-referrals, Torbay Healthy Lifestyles etc, where patients can be seen within the service for anything between six and twelve months and those who may go on to for bariatric surgery. Patients may be returned to this service for a further two years, if deemed suitable.
This administrator role oversees the whole pathway for patients on their weight loss journey from first referral, through multi-disciplinary discussion to possible bariatric surgery.
The successful applicant will be responsible for recruiting patients into an assessment clinic, arrange weigh-ins, book patients into a six month weight management programme and record outcome details that allow for data collection, as required by NHS England
